Some Facts on Timeshares

Timeshare is a type of ownership that gives the owner the privileges and or the rights of utilizing the unit for a specified period of time. The owner is entitled to use the facilities as well as the amenities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spas, tennis courts, golf courses, etc. Aside from the purchasing fee of a timeshare, annual maintenance fees must also be paid religiously. Maintenance fees serve as the caretaker of your property when you are not around. This is pretty much convenient for those owners who live miles away from their unit. The fees will go to the billings and the upkeep of the whole unit.

This type of vacation ownership has evolved through the years since its first emergence in an hotelier located in the French Alps. It was in 1960s that the concept of timeshare has made an industry well-praised by vacation lovers. Because of the great demand for travel that time, the concept has spread all over Europe, US, and dominated almost every elite class type of vacation getaways in the world.
But like any other industry, it also has flaws that even got worst when the global recession hit almost if not all industries. The industry’s image was torn by unscrupulous scammers surrounding the timeshare communities. This became a threat to both buyers and sellers. It also affected the sales thus the industry went down.

One of the results of this is the influx of timeshare resales. Many resellers were fooled by companies that offer an easy way out of timeshares. Some were contacted by timeshare resale ‘representatives’ through the phone. In the phone conversation the ‘representative’ tries to convince the owner to agree to their company’s services. The conversation ends once the owner reveals his credit card number and the ‘representative’ jots it down. A whopping hundreds or even thousands of dollars will be issued to their account. And the ‘representative’ then disappears.

There are also visible reselling companies that offer promos to timeshare owners yet further require the latter to avail of some other unnecessary paraphernalia. Better Business Bureau has been eyeing these two types of companies that continue to pester the timeshare owners. When you encounter such similar events, contact your Attorney General.

Transfer Smart can also be of helped to timeshare owners who no longer want their timeshares. The company is offering transferring services that guarantees you to be out of timeshares forever. You need not worry anymore of fees.
